Friday again already! I hope you're all having a great day there, whatever you're up to! Today I thought you might like to see this beautiful Faerie Doll that was sent in by Leslie who told me... "I wanted to share my first attempt at your midsummer faeirie doll. It was really fun to make and I am really pleased with the finished item. My granddaughter loves her and is asking for another one to keep her company. Thank you My Fabric Heaven for another brilliant pattern."I think she's stunning Leslie, you've really nailed it! Toddy Bear

Further to last months post about The Cottingly Fairies I have this lovely update from Jane, who told me... "Here is Toddy - one of the pet names I had to for Dad. He is made from his "hope shirt" which he was wearing in hospital and came back from double pneumonia and made it "home"...he is Toddy the Taurean as he was made on Sunday 7th which makes him a little bull bear. Xx"Lovely result Jane! Thanks for the update I think Toddy and Hildegard make a perfect pair. xxx

Cottingly Fairies Memory Bear

Meet Hildergard, a hand stitched memory bear made from the Harley Bear Pattern by Jane Cooper in her father's memory. Jane is the daughter of the late Joe Cooper who was the "jovial debunker of the celebrated Cottingley fairy photographs (supposedly showing fairies captured on film in a Yorkshire garden in 1917)." "His engaging and sympathetic approach ended the long deception by the cousins, Frances Griffiths and Elsie Wright, who were in their 80s when Cooper's interview appeared in the magazine The Unexplained in 1983.
