This delicate creature with the elfin face and pointed ears is a button jointed cloth doll and her limbs will move freely backwards and forwards. With her long tresses and sparkly wings she would make any little fairy fan very happy indeed.
She requires only small amounts of fabric and is fairly straightforward to construct if a little fiddly in places. You may find it helpful to use a gripping tool such as homeostatic forceps for turning her little arms and legs the right way out.

This pattern is dedicated to Jane Cooper who asked me to design a fairy doll to mark the centenary of The Cottingley Fairies in 2017 and to the memory of her beloved father Joe Cooper who wrote the book “The Case of the Cottingley Fairies" which was adapted for the film "Fairytale: A True Story" 1997.
