Last Christmas I made this bear (named Benson) for my brother, and as many of you know he was the prototype for the Jingle Bear Pattern. What I forgot to mention was that I also wrote a little poem to go with him which I hand wrote on a cardboard label and attached to his neck. It occurred to me that you might like to adapt the poem to go with your own bear gift this Christmas, so here's a copy with complements.....
PLEASE look after this Bear.....
His name is Benson and he has no hair!
He suffers with cold chills at night,
Could someone warm please hug him tight?
Benson Bear is a loyal friend
Whose love for you will never end
He'll keep your secrets, tell no lies,
Be kindly caring, gentle and wise.
So could you spare a moment please
To give poor Benson one small squeeze?
'coz teddy bears need hugs to live.....
Might you have a few to give?
Thank you kindly
