Shelly's Teddy Bears... made for friends!
Happy Wednesday and the sun is shining at last!! This morning I'd like to show you some lovely examples sent in by Shelly who has been making memory bears from the Harley Patchwork Bear Pattern. She has made them for her friends using their children's old baby grows. She says " I do enjoy making them" " and thank you for a lovely pattern. Sallyann sent in these lovely images of her creations and said..... "I purchased Jingle Bear and Ella Elephant patterns in October 2015. I made 3 Bears and an Elephant in memory of my late Dad as Christmas gifts for my Mum,Sister,Niece and Daughter. They were made out of 3 shirts a tie and a blanket. Everyone was very pleased with them, I think they turned out really well. Embroidered Bookmark Project
These simple bookmarks were made from a few fabric remnants and a little embroidery floss. They make sweet and useful handmade gifts for family at Christmas time but are so easy!.... You'll need 2 fabric remnants...a plain one for the front to embroider on, and a patterned one for the back. Cut them into 2 rectangles measuring 2 inches wide X 8 inches long and cut one end into a point (as in the photos) Choose a design for your embroidery...(my line drawings can be downloaded as images if you'd like to use them). Benson Bear with Poem
Last Christmas I made this bear (named Benson) for my brother, and as many of you know he was the prototype for the Jingle Bear Pattern. What I forgot to mention was that I also wrote a little poem to go with him which I hand wrote on a cardboard label and attached to his neck. It occurred to me that you might like to adapt the poem to go with your own bear gift this Christmas, so here's a copy with complements..... PLEASE look after this Bear.....His name is Benson and he has no hair!He suffers with cold chills...
More Christmas Sewing ...... Elf Boots
Well yes, I've been carried away with hand-sewing felt Christmas tree decorations this year and as you can see my colours are red and white. This week I've designed and made these little Elf Boots with a Celt button on the tongue and a jingle bell on the toe. They look really sweet hanging on the tree in pairs so I might make a pattern for them soon.
